I explore concepts of beauty in my work, often veering from the path of the traditionally beautiful. My females tend to be full-figured, with thick, textured hair. My vegetables are plump and oversized. I continue the exploration of vegetables and fruits in my drawings, which are usually still-lifes. The forms that occur in nature are, to me, the most beautiful forms in existence. In my drawings and pastels, I seek to celebrate the fascinating volumes and structures of fruits, vegetables, and various gourds. I find, in the study of their morphology, that there is an endless source of inspiration. I am always learning from the Great Creator as I work.
